Amongst other objectives WOS aims to increase its membership base, as we believe that if all women stand together in one voice, then munch can be achieved to ensure that women are given platform to let their voices and their stories heard and therefore create female role models for the aspiring women filmmakers, in a male dominated industry.
Member's benefits:
- A bi weekly news letter to disseminate latest industry info - to inform members on funding, festivals,
- Representation in other industry bodies to insure that we are in the forefront of understanding the dynamic to the industry in SA.
- Insuring networks with other women organisations through out the world - this is done through Women In Film and Television international (WIFTI) in which WOS is part of the board.
- Insure a women's focus and inclusion in a male domain
- Offer workshops, mentorship's with broadcasters and production houses, sponsor learnership to institutions e.g. now with AFDA and AVEA for members to can't afford
- Endorse members application for funding
- WOS has a website which is also there for members to advertise themselves/companies, their films etc.
- WOS is also establishing a database of women filmmakers to be displayed on the website, so that when anyone needs e.g. a women crewmember they would know where to find it.
- We promote member's product - through Monthly Screenings to start in June at the Market Theatre - A Women film festival, which is the only one in the African continent in August and sending member's product to different festivals through out the world. More info on festival and
- Help with the distribution of member's product - WOS is in close relations with Women Make Movies - a New York based distributor of films made by women through out the world.

- Let us know on; how with the help of WOS this industry can benefit you - interesting info rather any info you think WOS should know - any info you think may be of interest to the other members - queries about WOS-and any other industry bodies, broadcasters etc. - how you think we can in prove WOS as an organisation to be of benefit to members, even contacts for funding for the organisation if you come across any etc
